The Federal Trade Commission
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is the nation's consumer protection agency. Its Bureau of Consumer Protection works to protect consumers against unfair, deceptive and fraudulent practices. The FTC conducts investigations, enforces laws and regulations, develops rules to protect consumers, and educates consumers and businesses about their rights and responsibilities. It also collects complaints about consumer fraud and identity theft and makes them available to law enforcement agencies across the country.

The National Do Not Call Registry
The National Do Not Call Registry, also overseen by the FTC, makes it easy to reduce the number of unwanted telemarketing sales calls you receive at home. You can add your phone numbers to the registry, check your registration status or file a complaint.

BBBOnLine promotes trust and confidence on the Internet through the BBBOnLine Reliability and Privacy Seal Programs. Their web site seal programs allow companies to display seals once they have been evaluated and confirmed to meet the program's requirements.
